11:00–11:30 AM – Rip Roaring and Ready to Go
Each state self-advocacy organization introduces themselves with a rap, chant, or greeting. This is done by representatives of each state board. It includes a short report from each state. There is a total of 3 minutes per state for both the chant and your report. The goal is to get people energized. We need the names of who will represent the state by Nov 23rd. We are considering the idea of showing a visual of what SABE is/What Region 8 is.
11:30 AM – 12:00 PM – SABE Board Member Election
We will elect 4 people in total for the SABE Board: 2 board members and 2 alternates.
- If you want to run, you must fill out a SABE application before the election. Apply at this link:

- Each candidate will give a short speech (less than 2 minutes).
- Voting will happen through a Zoom Poll.
- The top 2 vote getters will be the board members.
- The people who come in 3rd and 4th will be the alternates.
12:00–1:00 PM – Break
1:00–2:00 PM – SARTAC Regular Meeting will be a workshop for this SABE/NEAT conference.
Schedule: Friday, Dec 12
6:00–7:00 PM – Mini TED Talks
- Self-advocates give short talks (with or without slides)
- Share something you’re passionate about. It could be of general interest.
- Presentations should be interactive if possible
- Live virtual presentation
- 6 minutes – each!
