Open The Window: A Disability Culture Benediction

This video shows what one self-advocacy group did during the pandemic. The group met for Zoom Rehearsals and for a weekly Zoom Theatre Gathering. They wrote poems and created lyrics for an original song. This poem is one of 10 poems in their chapbook, “Poems from the Pandemic.”  These poems were written and published with our wonderful collaborating partner, MSU, Mankato’s LitReach Program, and Diana Joseph.

We added vaccine awareness information at the end of the video. As a group, we shared Covid and Vaccine Information both during virtual rehearsals and when we returned to in-person rehearsals.

The word “Benediction” means to share a blessing or offer good wishes to someone.
